WHAT IS THE HOPE FOR ALL CHRISTMAS OFFERING?
The Hope For All Offering is a special opportunity to accelerate the mission of God in our church, community, and the world in 2022. This is not an offering to make budget, but to give towards vision for the year ahead. This is also an important opportunity for you to grow in your faith through sacrificial giving, so we invite you to pray and ask God what He is leading you to contribute beyond your regular tithes and offerings and in generosity give your best gift. Let's end the year, and start out 2022 by being generous as our God is generous.
The Hope For All Offering launches Sunday, November 21st and runs through Sunday, January 2nd.
WHY GIVE IN A SPECIAL OFFERING?
We believe that Biblical stewardship starts with the obedience in giving a tithe (tithe meaning 10%), but should grow towards radical generosity – giving offerings above and beyond the tithe. As we give, we do so cheerfully (2 Corinthians 9:7) and regularly (I Corinthians 16:2). Yet, we are also called to give sacrificially (Mark 12:41-44). The Hope For All Offering is a time to give in both a radically generous and sacrificial way above your regular tithes and offerings. This is the time of the year where, in faith, we bring our best gift recognizing God has given us MORE THAN ENOUGH to be able to contribute in some way.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE?
There is no goal dollar amount on the Christmas Offering – this is intentional. This offering is not because we are behind on budget for 2021, but instead will position our church to make greater impact on our community, city, and world in 2022. It will go directly towards accelerating the mission of the 40+ areas that we as a church currently make a kingdom contribution into, as well as some special vision initiatives for 2022.
However, this offering is less about meeting a specific need, and more about your spiritual formation and growth. It is a part of God’s plan to grow the faith of people in His church, and sacrificial giving has the opportunity to do this like no other! We want you to simply pray and ask God, “What do you want me to give?” and respond with obedience and faith. As we encourage church-wide participation, the issue is not equal giving in dollar amounts, but equal sacrificial obedience.
WHEN SHOULD I GIVE?
To enable you the time to respond in obedience and faith, the Hope For All Offering will run throughout the entire month of December and end on the first Sunday of the New Year – Sunday, January 2nd. However, if you would like your offering to be considered in your 2021 tax-deductible giving statement, the church must receive it by December 31st, 2021. You can give your gifts at separate times over the course of the month, or all at once.
